In November of 2022, our evolved group  formed a “Friends of Carrington”, 5013c in order to preserve and restore the property for the use and enjoyment of the residents of Cherry Grove and Fire Island Pines as well as the public at large. Our group has formed an interim board of directors to launch this effort in partnership with the FINS. There are currently 4 of us, 2 from the Grove and 2 from the Pines. In addition we have added 4 ex-officio members. They are; the Superintendent of the National Seashore, the President of FIPPOA, the Presidents of the resident associations in Cherry Grove.
